Eucalyptus silk has been hailed as a game-changer by beauty gurus worldwide - and now you can fill your bedroom with its luxurious fibers for a cooling, beauty-boosting, and more sustainable sleep.
Silk is renowned for its skin, health and beauty benefits, but did you know it's one of the most harmful fabrics on the planet? Silk has a more detrimental environmental impact than many synthetic fabrics, based on research by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition.PETA has also revealed that for every 1 kilogram of silk, 6600 silkworms are boiled or gassed alive.
The sustainable solution
touché signature vegan silk is spun from TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers, sustainably harvested from eucalyptus trees. The wood pulp is treated in a closed-loop system, wherein ninety-nine percent of the water and solvent used in production is recovered and reused, again and again. This extends the lifecycle of our resources and eliminates environmental waste.
touché vegan silk comes from eucalyptus farms around the world, grown in FSC certified forests, which means they are managed to strict environmental, social and economic standards. Our eucalyptus forests are entirely organic and sustainably farmed, using fibers grown by photosynthesis, and sourced from renewable wood.
The eucalyptus fiber used to create the beautiful vegan silk is considerably more eco-friendly than cotton and bamboo, as it is naturally biodegradable, becoming one with nature when no longer in use.
Additionally, when colouring this fabric, the carbon footprint is 60% less than other conventionally dyed textiles, and up to 50% of energy and water is saved.
