At Touché, we are dedicated to combining indulgent comfort with conscious living. Our signature bedding is made from TENCEL™ Lyocell fibres, responsibly harvested from eucalyptus trees, reflecting our commitment to eco-friendly practices. Opting for Touché's vegan silk allows you to enjoy a luxurious sleeping environment while supporting sustainable forestry.
In evaluating the environmental cost of traditional silk, it's important to recognise its considerable impact. Studies by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition highlight that silk production often poses greater environmental challenges than many materials. Moreover, ethical concerns arise from the practices used in silk farming, where thousands of silkworms are sacrificed for just a kilogram of silk. These insights drive our dedication to providing a compassionate and eco-friendly alternative with our vegan silk.
Touché presents a sustainable solution with our vegan silk bedding. Made from TENCEL™ Lyocell fibres, sourced from sustainably managed eucalyptus farms, our products ensure that luxury is delivered with a deep respect for the environment. This approach not only reduces harm but also aligns with our vision of a world where indulgence and eco-responsibility go hand in hand.
Our production embraces a closed-loop system, pivotal in resource conservation. In crafting our fabric, we utilise 99% of the water and solvent, recovering and reusing them to minimise waste. This process underscores our dedication to environmental stewardship, ensuring our luxurious products are created with minimal ecological footprint.
We source the fibres for our fabric from eucalyptus trees grown in FSC certified forests, which meet stringent environmental, social, and economic criteria, ensuring the highest standards of sustainable forest management. Our commitment to organic, sustainable farming practices allows us to harness the power of natural photosynthesis, making certain that the wood for our fabric is not only renewable but also supports ecological harmony.
Our eucalyptus fabric is inherently biodegradable, ensuring that it can decompose naturally at the end of its lifecycle. This aligns with our ethos of creating products that respect the circular nature of the environment, designed to give back to the earth without leaving a lasting footprint. We're dedicated to crafting offerings that contribute positively to the planet's natural cycles, promoting resource renewal and environmental integrity.
Our commitment to energy conservation is integral to our production process. By utilising methods that require 30% less energy compared to cotton production, we not only enhance efficiency but also embrace renewable energy sources. This conscientious approach helps us diminish our dependence on non-renewable energy and supports our vision for a sustainable future.
By choosing touché products you embrace sustainable luxury that doesn't compromise on quality or style.

We use only authentic, certified TENCEL™ eucalyptus lyocell. This is the highest quality eucalyptus lyocell available on the market. When buying lyocell products, it is important to look for the TENCEL™ certification as a badge of high quality and sustainable production. touché offers the highest quality vegan silk, crafted to the highest standards of sustainability.
Our fabric is dyed using AVITERA® SE dyes. These dyes significantly reduce water and energy consumption and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions during the dyeing and washing-off process. They improve productivity, reduce costs and deliver the highest level of light- and wet-fastness across the entire shade gamut and coloir spectrum. More importantly, they are free of para-chloro-aniline (PCA)* and other regulated chemicals.
We believe all life is equal and we don't have the right to use another living being for our luxury. We are proud to be a PETA certified, 100% vegan company. This certification guarantees that there are absolutely no ingredients originating from animals used in any part of our production process. The certification is awarded by the animal rights organisation People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
We only work with factories that respect their employees, pay living wages and provide a safe and fair place to work. Our manufacturing partners are independently audited through SEDEX. SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) is the most widely used social audit in the world. The sites are evaluated according to their organisation’s standards of labour, health and safety, environment and business ethics. Learn more about SEDEX certification here.
How
Our signature vegan silk is spun from TENCEL™ Lyocell fibres, sustainably harvested from eucalyptus trees. The wood pulp is treated in a closed-loop system, wherein 99% of the water and solvent used in production is recovered and reused, again and again. This extends the lifecycle of our resources and eliminates environmental waste.
Where
The eucalyptus fibres used to create our fabric comes from eucalyptus farms around the world, grown in FSC-certified forests, meaning they are managed to strict environmental, social and economic standards. The eucalyptus farms are entirely organic and sustainably farmed, using fibres grown by photosynthesis, sourced from renewable wood.
Why
The eucalyptus fibres used to create beautiful TENCEL™ Lyocell is considerably more eco-friendly than many fabrics, and it is naturally biodegradable, becoming one with nature when no longer in use. At touché, we value a sustainable lifestyle, and we vow to always provide the best in ethical, earth-friendly luxury.

According to the Higg Index, silk has by far the worst impact on the environment of any textile, including polyester, viscose/rayon, and lyocell. It’s worse than the much-demonized cotton, using more fresh water, causing more water pollution, and emitting more greenhouse gases.
On top of this, at least 420 billion silkworms are killed annually during the production of silk generally due to disease and pests in industrial farming.
Annually, a significant number of silkworms meet their end in the silk production process, primarily due to the method used to extract silk fibres from their cocoons. This extraction process involves boiling the cocoons with the pupae inside, resulting in the loss of silkworm lives.
It's estimated that up to 100 litres of water are used for every kilogram of raw silk produced, highlighting the environmental impact of conventional silk manufacturing.
Traditional silk production often relies on energy-intensive methods, such as high-temperature boiling and chemical treatments, which contribute to its environmental footprint.
